Alumni at lucknow chapter have been regularly meeting for family get-togethers, executive body meetings or special meetings at various venues. The usual communication is done by post and phone. All Alumni are also requested to inform each other about these programmes. Alumni are also requested to confirm there participation to the corresponding contact persons of each programme.

Our association is a co-sponsor of Engineers Day Celebration ( 150th Birth Anniversary of Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvarayya) as per following Programme.

6.30 PM - Engineers Day Function .
7.30 PM - Cultural Programme.
8.30 PM - Dinner

All MNNIT alumni are invited along with their spouse. Prior confirmation is requested.

Past Activities

15 Aug 2010: Family Lunch and Tree Plantation Meet at Institution of Engineers, River Bank Colony, Lucknow.

After a long time Motis met on Independence day. This meeting was organised along with of Institution of Engineers, UP State Centre. Probably for the first time in alumni history proper flag hoisting was done. This was done by Institution Chairman Er. Girish. Then the tree plantation begun with lot of enthusiasm. Local Media was also present. Head of Lok Bharati, an environment mission NGO also planted a tree along with our president Shri J.M. Gupta 70 batch. Later Master Shivam Garg, S/o of alumni Sri Sunil Ji Garg 83 batch, presented a film on 'Reduction of polythene usage and save paper' which has been prepared as an entry from UP for design for change contest being held at International Level. Interesting housie round herded by Wing Commander Johri, Games prepared by Mrs. J.M.Gupta and Mrs Shikha Garg related to independence day were enjoyed by all. Meal was extremely praised by everyone.

21 Mar 2010: Family Dinner Meet at Sushant Golf City, Sultanpur Road, Lucknow.

This meeting was a landmark meeting by itself. Never Before in the history of our chapter so many people reached in a meeting at a distant place. This time things worked due to excessive publicity using SMS/Email and Letter. A strength of 140 people (as told by caterer, :-) )were present at the venue. Holi songs were also organised courtesy Er. Sanjay Deshmankar of 83 batch. Shri K.K. Singh of 68 batch who is working as GM in ansals organised the venue for us. Many many thanks to him. Interesting games, Housie and a Dinner with HOLI mood was also served. Gunjia and Thandai were off course not missing. But those were so tasty that late comers didn't get a chance to have them.


29 Jan 2010: Special Executive Council Meet to Honour Shri Swaraj Jain.
 
This meeting was organised as ri Swaraj Jain a very Active 1968 batch Alumni from New Delhi was Visiting Lucknow. All 1968 Batch alumni and Executive Council Members were present at Crystal hall of the MB Club. The meeting marked the sharing of very special moment with Mr. Jain who said that with this meeting he is charged up for another 30 years to come. Everyone was quite upbeat as this republic day two Padma Awards came to our bags. Shri B.K. Chaturvedi who has taught in college during 1964-65 was awarded the Padma bhushan and Shri Deep Joshi, 1968 batch alumni and Magsaysay Award Winner 2009 was also awarded with Padmashri this year. This is also unique that Shri B.K. Chaturvedi has also taught Shri Joshi during his 1st year at the college. (See Press Release)

 

07 Nov 2009: Family Dinner Meet, MB Club, Lucknow.

This meeting was labeled as a deepawali milan meet. Deepawali this year was on 17th October, but Lucknow has a culture of celebrating holi and diwali for about a month from the date of actual festival. So moti's also celebrated the enlightened mood 20 days later. The meeting was arranged on a short notice and most people got information through SMS. Still more than 31 Alumni Member with families, total about 75 people were present in almost a packed Crystal Hall of MB club. Other than routine tambola with our now quite famous tambola-announcer Wg Cdr G.K. Johri, the meeting would be remembered for a unique game arranged by Mr. Shikha Garg, where all participants were asked to fill words ending with hindi 'E' on a given sheet. In this Game Mrs. Ravindra Goel won the First Prize, while Mr. B.M. Sharma took the Second and Mrs. J.M. Gupta walked away with the Third Prize.

Two alumni members Er. Sewa Lal and Er. S.K. Pal, both 1979 batch had come all the way from kanpur, just to attend this meeting. Members were also told regarding Alumni convention 2009 and 1984 batch silver jubilee programme to be held at college on 14th-15th Nov. 2009. Later Mr. D.K. Srivastava presented his poem in his unique style bowing in front of all ladies. After this punctuality prizes and Lucky draw prizes were also given. Interestingly the punctuality prize went to our President Er. J.M. Gupta himself. Afterwards Members enjoyed a tasty dinner. In this meeting the Nov. 2009 Edition of Moti News Bulletin was also released and distributed amongst the members present. Everything went off quite smoothly.


16th Aug 2009: Tree Plantation Drive, MB Club, Lucknow.

We have started this tradition since 2008 and this year also it was a very successful meet. Many alumni members took the pains to assemble at MB club at 8.30 AM on a Sunday morning in spite of heavy rains. Fortunately the rain stopped around 9.00 AM and then all the fellow alumni and MB club members planted around 100 plants at the site. Then we had a nice breakfast that was sponsored by MB Club.

On this occasion Mr Ashesh Agarwal, 87 CS our treasurer was also presented a bouquet by our Ex. Professor M.S. Gupta on his selection as Chairman of CSI, Lucknow. This was really great as now people from batches in 80s are also getting their due honors which used to be earlier received by people from 60s and 70s batches. 

29th March 2009: Holi Milan at Vishvesvariya Hall A Block, Indira Nagar, Lucknow.

This meet shall be remembered for its unique Holi-Milan celebration style where many holi-songs were presented by alumni and their family members. The self-motivated participation from wives and mothers of alumni was quite interesting to note. Mother of Sri P.K. Chaurasia, aged 85 years also presented a song that demonstrated her exceptional initiative at this age. There were other regular events like Housie, Punctuality and Lucky Draw, which went thru smoothly. A tongue tickling choola-bhatura platter followed. The Holi-preparation of Thandai and Gujia were served as starters that was relished by everyone present. The prizes for Lucky draw were given by Smt. J.M. Gupta and for Punctuality Draw it was given by Er. Jawaharlal. The meet saw a very good participation from 55 alumni members and total strength in the house was about 150 people. Elections of new executives was also performed. The New Executive team is as follows:

Er. J.M. Gupta 70 M (President), Er. Akhilendra Pratap Singh 85 C (Gen. Secretary), Er. Brijendra Pande 73ME (Vice President), Er. Sunil Ji Garg 83 E (Vice President), Er. Ashesh Kr. Agarwal 87CS ( Treasurer).

5th October: Family Dinner at MB Club, Cantt, Lucknow, 6.30 PM onwards.

28 Jun. 2008: Togetherness and Dinner Meet at M.B. Club, Lucknow

A Unique meet in many respects, that started a little late around 8.00 PM with a tambola round hosted by cul.secy DK srivastava and president J.M. Gupta, with many new kinds of prizes. Members kept flowing till around 9.00 PM. New Members were felicitated on this occasion while a curtain raiser of 1983 Silver Jubilee Celebration was provided by Er. Sunil Ji Garg, with his batchmates Ajay Purwar, Ashok Kr. Srivastava, Sanjay Deshmankar  joining him on stage. Prog R.C. Yadav gave brief enlightening speech. Second round of tambola was hosted by Er. Garg in his peculiar children friendly multilingual style. A punctuality draw and lucky draw was other highlights of the meeting and a 6 Inch smile could well be seen on face of Er. Subash Kacker who won the 1st Prize in Lucky Draw. A sumptuous dinner was then served to subside the protuberating taste-buds anxiously awaiting for this ending note. Meeting was feathered well by external attendees like Er. Anupam from Annpara and Er. Anil Ji Garg from Ghaziabad. But Alas! this meeting will also be marked for absence of many familiar faces that used to be always present in other meeting. Anyway the strength was still more than 75 .
